Pic of the Day – Ilex crenata ‘Adorned’

This great sport of the dwarf cultivar ‘Hoogendorn’ is perhaps the brightest gold of any compact Japanese holly around. It makes a low mound of brilliant gold foliage in the spring. As summer progresses, the older foliage becomes greener with a creamy yellow edge. It makes a show-stopper dwarf evergreen plant growing only about 24″ tall by 40″ wide in 8 years.
